Indian Air Force (IAF) is one amongst few highly sophisticated and powerful Air Forces of the world. Here you can get an insight of Rank Structure of Indian Air Force. Initially, when a candidate is inducted in IAF he will undergo training thereafter the candidate is inducted as a commissioned officer in IAF and awarded rank of Flying Officer. Thereafter on promotion, the rank increases with that also increase the responsibility which the candidate has to shoulder. The Head of Indian Air Force is known as Air Chief Marshal.
While the Marshal of the Air Force is a five-star honorary/wartime rank. Till date only one officer Shri Arjan Singh, DFC has been awarded this rank.

The first rank you will get is Flight Lieutenant.
Is flight lieutenant for technical or nontechnical or both?
