On selection for Indian Army candidates are called for training at IMA/OTA. While undergoing training a stipend of Rs. 21,000/- per month is paid to the Gentlemen Cadets. On successful completion of training they will be commissioned in the Rank of Lieutenant and will be entitled for the following pay:

A candidate once commissioned in the Rank of Lieutenant will be promoted to LT. Colonel on time scale basis i.e. on completion for specific year of service. From LT. Colonel to General the promotion is on selection basis i.e. Government will select the officers for promotion.
