Rapid fire questions in SSB Interview

During the personal Interview of the SSB Interview. The Interviewing officer i.e. IO generally gives two rapid-fire questions that a candidate is required to answer. The questions asked are related to your personal life. You surely can’t reply I don’t know.

Please explain more

IO will ask a long question i.e. it will be a single long question but with many short questions in it. When so many questions will be asked you surely will come under pressure and how much you retain under pressure and how you react is what the officer wants to judge.

What kind of question will be asked?

IO will ask something like.

Tell me your educational qualification from 10th onward up to graduation mentioning the school in which you studied, year in which you passed the exam, branch/subjects you studied, percentage of marks obtained and tell me one subject you liked the most and why and one subject you hated most and why?

There may be slight variation in the above questions may be IO remove or add any more parameter that you need to reply or he may ask about your favorite teacher instead of subject or may ask both.

Please understand that here we are trying to make you understand about how to answer not what to answer.

To reply that question one thing is must that try to keep the order of your answer in which the questions were asked. Don’t answer about 10th, Graduation and then 12th Class. Answer the details with 10, 12 and then Graduation. Try to answer maximum possible questions. There is no question that you can’t answer but the thing is how you will retain under pressure what is being asked or in other words how much information is retained by you under pressure.

Probably by the technique/method that we will discuss here, you will be able to answer each and every question.

When the IO is asking you the question listen carefully to him.

When IO asks then for years just remember Y for years, P for percentage, S for School and B for Branch/Subject i.e. a code for the particular item. So for the above question you need to just remember YPSB. (If you keep S for School and Subject both then you need to be aware of that or better if you keep another symbol as we have taken” B”).

Now, all you need to keep in mind is YPSB. Don’t try to mug this code while IO is saying something to you otherwise you will miss something important that IO might say.

When you tell about 10th class just keep in your mind YPSB and answer Year, Percentage, School and Branch/Subjects that you studied in 10th Class. (No need to mention all subjects mentioned only a few important subjects). Don’t just say 2010, 75%, XYZ School. Say in a paragraph like I completed 10th Class in 2010 with 75% of Marks for XYZ School. Similarly, you can answer for 12th and Graduation.

For the question of the favorite subject, no need to tell favorite subject for each class, tell only one subject that you like and one that you don’t like out of your academic life and surely if you like or dislike something then there must be some reason that you need to mention.

The second rapid-fire contains questions related to your family. You can use the same technique as above to answer that rapid fire question.

Important

The Questions asked are something related to your personal life, you are the best person to answer it. But the only thing is you need to answer too many questions at one go. There is no need to mug up the answer, you can easily reply many questions using above method.

Your views, comments, suggestion are invited. If you have a better way then please do inform us we are waiting for that.

  1. I do not have a particular favorite game or subject. I generally take interests in everything that I do and never had the concept of favoritism. This is the fact and if I tell this to IO will he think that I don’t know myself? or I am trying to act smart by dodging his questions. What should be the right approach in such situations?

    • Don’t try to enter into the mind of IO, just be what you are. If you reply as you just mentioned then likely chances are that IO might cross-question you such as which game you played most of the time and to this, it’s not possible to say I played all games for an equal duration if you say football then he may question you more about it.
