CDS 2 2014 Notification and Eligibility Criteria



UPSC or the Union Public Service Commission has announced notification for CDS II 2014 (Combined Defense Service Exam) which will take place on 26th October, 2014. The Notification is for commission in Indian Defence forces named Army, Navy and Air Force. The Notification is for 139th Course at IMA (Indian Military Academy) and SSC 102th Men and SSC 16th Women course at OTA (Officers Training Academy), 198th flying course of Indian Air Force at (Air Force Academy) AFA and course at Indian Naval Academy (INA). The duration of training is of 1 and half years at IMA through CDSE entry.

Only Unmarried Male candidates are eligible to apply for IMA, NA and AFA and Married Male candidates can apply for OTA. Female candidates can only apply for OTA through CDS 2 2014.

All candidates except Female/SC/ST are required to pay fee of Rs.200



IMA – : Born not earlier than 2nd July, 1991 and not later than 1st July, 1996.

INA – : Born not earlier than 2nd July, 1991 and not later than 1st July, 1996.

IAF – : Born not earlier than 2nd July, 1992 and not later than 1st July, 1996.

OTA Men – : Born not earlier than 2nd July, 1990 and not later than 1st July, 1996.

OTA Women – : Born not earlier than 2nd July, 1990 and not later than 1st July, 1996.

IMA & OTA : Degree of a recognized University.

INA : Degree in Engineering from recognized University.

IAF : Degree of recognized University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.

Candidates appearing in final year of their degree course are also eligible to apply.

First of all go to upsconline.nic.in

Click on Part I registration and carefully fill the First Part and submit your form. A unique ID will be generated keep the ID with you for further completion of your form.

Now Click on Part II registration which includes Payment and Uploading of Photograph and Signature. You can make payment by Credit Card, Debit Card or through Bank Challan.

Successful acceptance of your application depends on confirmation of Payment by the Bank.

The Commission will decide a minimum qualifying marks for various academies (IMA, INA, AFA & OTA) generally the cut off marks for AFA are higher than others. Those who score minimum qualifying marks in written exam will be called for SSB Interview at one of the Selection Board among various boards situated in our country. Candidates recommended by SSB will undergo medical examination and finally an all India Merit List will be made for different courses and only those candidates who make up to the merit list will be then called for training at the respective training academy.
