Rational and Logical Thinking – a candidate must possess an ability to think logically and perceive the given situation/problem correctly. This means if there is an earthquake situation then you must keep in mind the ground situation, you can’t simply say you will make a phone call because in an earthquake all the connection lines, so while answering keep it in mind. Your solution to the problem must be practical, don’t write anything that a common person can’t do. Maybe you are daring enough to jump from the second floor in case of fire but don’t think everyone else can do it. Another important thing is that use all possible resources, for example in Group Planning Exercise you will be given a problem as one boy came on a cycle to inform you that he heard some kidnappers making a plan. Here you need to understand that you can use the cycle of that boy it’s a resource for you.
Good Knowledge of Current affair – a candidate is expected to possess the adequate general knowledge and current affairs especially involving India. Make a habit of reading a good newspaper and do it regularly and here regularly means daily. A well-learned person is aware of all the things happening around him, this doesn’t mean that you need to have knowledge about each and everything under the sun but this means at least you must be aware of major issues happening around us.
Quick Decisions – you must be able to think quickly and take correct decisions. Even a perfect decision is worthless if not taken at appropriate time. For example in case of a patient the perfect decision is surgery but what is the use of that decision if it is not taken at appropriate time. Your action/decision must be really not an action scene from South Indian movie. You must understand the aim or objective of the task and then find workable ideas.
Forthright – one must be forthright in expressing oneself and spontaneous in nature. You are expected to participate actively in each and every task.
Full of Josh – you must be full of energy and Josh in all the tasks and especially in GTO round of SSB Interview. Participate actively and make a useful contribution in various group activist. In all the group activities the aim of the group is very important and always keep that in mind and work accordingly.
Effective Communication – be clear and confident in expressing your thoughts. You must be effective in communication, but that doesn’t mean you are good only in expressing yourself, effective communication means that you must listen to what others are saying. If you are not in agreement with the ideas of others then don’t shout at them just explain logically why their point is not acceptable.
Creative – you must be creative in generating ideas. Don’t use pre-conceived ideas or knowledge because something that worked for someone might not work for you.
Be active – don’t wait for your turn to come. There will be no spoon-feeding in SSB Interview, you have to grab the opportunity.
Don’t try to mug up these points just keep them in mind. You need to include them in your daily life and change yourself for good because it will help you in each and every sphere of your life.
