If the Interviewer offers you handshake
In this case, you should handshake with the Interviewer, in fact sometimes the interviewer wants to know your level of confidence by offering you a handshake and by the way you shake hand will reveal your nervousness (if you are). But please note that this is not a place to showcase your muscle power. Shake Hand in a gentleman’s way, make sure you touch the entire hand and your thumb must cross the thumb of the Interviewer.

Don’t handshake with fingers, your palm should touch the palm of the interviewer and give a gentle shake in up and down direction and don’t leave the hand until the interviewer wants to. Don’t be in hurry, your way of handshake must be as if you have the entire duration of the interview for handshake only. Look at the two pictures below, in the picture on the left you can see that one person is trying to grab the hand of another person and the person whose hand is on top is somewhat nervous and uncomfortable. While in the picture on the right side both persons are holding each other’s hand equally and are very much comfortable. This is the proper way of a handshake. You must practice this method of the handshake during an interview or in general.
If the Interviewer doesn’t offer handshake
In this case, our opinion is that you should not initiate for a handshake. Sometimes what happens is that you put your hand forward and the interviewer doesn’t accept that in that case, you will find yourself in an embarrassing situation.
Also sometimes the Interviewer feels offended when you initiate handshake because the truth is that he/she is the one controlling the situation and when you initiate a handshake it signifies that you are the one defining the terms and dominating the situation.
